Convention 2015 brought an exciting new future for the Foundation. Throughout the years, Phi Sigma Rho has been affected by blood borne cancers in various ways, with sisters and family members battling diseases like leukemia and lymphoma. In 2010, the National Council made the vote to make the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society the national philanthropic cause of the Sorority. During the Foundation Luncheon, the Foundation announced that it has paired with the Light the Night Walk, the main fundraising event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to unite the chapters, colonies, interest groups, and alumnae in supporting this LLS. With this campaign, Phi Sigma Rho will have more unison in our philanthropic efforts.
There are three ways chapters can participate in the Light the Night Campaign:
- Participate in a Local Light the Night Walk
- Organize a “Walk in a Box”
- Create an Event to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (like the Phi 5K, Phi Rho Your Boat, Lemonade for Leukemia, and more!)
Active chapters and colonies have pages already built and will be given their team logins so donations can be made to the LLS.
